Build a statellite with Linux servers

   Redhat Statellite Server

Linux has become a key foundation for supporting today's rapidly growing IT environments.    Linux is being used to deploy business applications and databases, trading on its reputation as a low-cost operating environment.

For many IT organizations, Linux is a mainstay for deploying Web servers and has evolved from handling basic file, print, and utility workloads to running mission-critical applications and databases, physically, virtually, and in the cloud.

As Linux grows in importance in terms of value to the business, managing Linux environments to high standards of service quality — availability, security, and performance — becomes an essential requirement for business success.

  •   Red Hat Inc. distributes and supports the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating environment, which is based on the Linux open source kernel.

  • Red Hat provides Red Hat Satellite, a systems management platform designed to be deployed on a server located in a customer's datacenter.

  • Red Hat Satellite provides patch management, provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.

All of the companies were able to reduce their maintenance and external vendor    costs, lower their expenses by moving away from other less efficient tools, avoid new hires, and reduce costs for new hardware.IT organizations have been able to deploy Linux servers faster, cheaper, and in a more standardized fashion after their Red Hat Satellite implementation. "Red Hat Satellite makes the Linux servers more valuable because server acquisition costs are lower and we don't have a hardware support contract

Improvements in scheduled maintenance, application support, and hardware support were significant benefits to the IT organizations .Because of the automated processes made possible by implementing Red Hat Satellite, companies have been able to save over a third of an FTE per year on network operations

Downtime has been reduced by approximately one hour per month, which has a direct impact on user productivity. Fewer hours "in the dark" means users have more time to complete more tasks

Improvements in their time to market and avoided lost revenue implementing Red Hat Satellite. Linux servers are essential to a retailer's Web-based business, and faster application deployment times translate into quicker new revenue generation. "Time to market is important to the business, and we use Linux servers for everything, including business-critical applications.

Example

when we get a new application, we just hit a button and get that out to 100 servers in about 20 minutes. If we didn't have Red Hat Satellite, it would take two to three days."

Biggest lesson that life has taught

LIFE  has taught me lessons too many to mention, therefore I will only list those that are imposed by the ill of society. Our aspirations that we foster as children are blown up to smithereens as we begin to age. From failure we learn humbleness and for success we learn that happiness was its sacrifice. The lessons we learn are not all reflective of our successes but deflective in our failure looking for that unseen fulfillment in which we elude ourselves in. Silence is wisdom & wisdom is power.  Ernest Psiachari, a French writer from the 1800’s expressed- Silence is a bit of heaven that comes down to earth. True words of wisdom. Slumbering ego awakened by the dim-witted.  To imply that every human being has an ego which is normally in slumber. But if the dim witted awakens my ego, I will wreak havoc. I will boast about my achievements, only when my ego is provoked. The secret of success stays secret.  To work harder than my competitors by not offering any information about my plan

One cute love story

Once upon a time, in the vibrant land of Tamil Nadu, there were two individuals whose lives were about to intertwine in a beautiful and unexpected way. Venkatesh Prasad, born and raised in the city of Madurai, had ventured to the bustling city of Chennai in search of better opportunities. Aishwarya, on the other hand, hailed from the ancient city of Kanchipuram and had established herself in Chennai, where she worked as an auditor. It was a sunny morning when fate brought Venkatesh and Aishwarya together. Both boarded the same bus from MRC Nagar to Guindy, unaware of the life-changing encounter that awaited them. As the bus traversed the busy streets of Chennai, they found themselves seated next to each other. A gentle smile from Venkatesh caught Aishwarya's attention, and a conversation soon ensued. Their initial conversation was filled with shared laughter and a surprising connection. They discovered common interests, similar values, and dreams that resonated with one another. A
